In a sensitive blend of fiction and documentary, the film <em>D\u00fcrer<\/em>, with a cast of top-class actors, tells of the life of the eccentric artist and of the stories behind his famous works.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00fcrer&#8217;s work and his person (1471-1528) are still moving today \u2014 the hare, the folded hands, the apocalypse, the rosary feast and his sometimes extraordinarily intimate self-portraits. When you get right down to it, Albrecht D\u00fcrer probably invented the selfie.
